East of Scotland Iyengar Yoga Exchange of Learning Days for Teachers 2024 2025.

Yoga Glasgow (IYG) and East of Scotland Iyengar Yoga (ESIY) are working together for the 2024 – 25 Exchange of Learning Days.

The theme is ‘Yoga through the Ages, for all ages’, and will delve into the various ways in which yoga can benefit us at different stages of life.

You will be able to attend any of the following dates:

ESIY

Sun 10 November 2024: Yoga-on-Tay with Julie Anderson, 24 High Street, Newport on Tay, 10am – 4.30pm (16 spaces)

Sat 1 or Sun 2 February 2025: YogaNow with Katie Rutherford, Edinburgh

Sat 5 October 2024: Yoga Extension with Frances McKee 12 – 5pm (26 places)

Sun 2 March 2025: Studio Harmony with Helen Graham (time tbc approx 11am – 4pm) (14 places)

Teachers are required to attend one Exchange of Learning Day (formerly known as PD Days) every two years, and are strongly encouraged to attend every year, as the topics change annually – with the subject chosen based on issues facing or questions arising from teachers.

Booking will open 22 July for IYG and ESIY teacher members, when another email will be sent with links to each day.

The cost is £30

Bobby Clennell’s visit to Scotland in March 2024

We were delighted welcome visiting International Teacher Bobby Clennell once again to our Scottish Iyengar Yoga Community.

Bobby Clennell is a very experienced Iyengar Yoga teacher and long-time student of B.K.S. Iyengar and his children, Geeta S. Iyengar and Prashant Iyengar.

She is also a renowned author, publishing several titles including the wonderful ‘Women’s Yoga Book’.

She is based in New York but we are delighted she visted Scotland to teach a series of Workshops with Yoga Inverness. These workshops took place 1st to 3rd March and with a hybrid option with online attendance also available.

Abhijata is coming to Scotland!

We are delighted to announce Abhijata Iyengar will be coming to Scotland as part of our celebrations of 50 years of Iyengar Yoga in Scotland.

Abhijata’s visit will be on Thursday 2nd May before the IYUK convention. She will be visiting Edinburgh and teaching a workshop in the morning, 10am to 12:30 pm.

The workshop will be at Lauriston Hall in Edinburgh for 100 attendees. The workshop will be 2.5 hours long and will be suitable for those with at least 2 years regular Iyengar Yoga class attendance. Please ask your teacher if you are in doubt.

Duration: 2 hours + 30 min Q&A
